Christmas dinner

The last friday of the year there is always a free Christmas dinner for all the children.
In every classroom the tables are set nicely.
The diner was : turkey with mushroom sauce, peach and croquettes.
All the teachers helped to make the diner a succes and the children ate a lot.

Christmas play

Every year the teacher of religion makes a play with the children. Some of them sing, others dance and there are also actors. They show the story of the birth of Jesus.

Tily went to the Christmas market

We have also eaten "oliebollen", a kind of donuts. This is traditional food in Belgium in this period.

In the centre of the Christmas market there is a skating area with a beautifull light tree in the middle. Tily was amazed by such beauty.

Every year there is a Christmas market in the centre of Bruges.
There are a lot of different Christmas stalls where you can buy gifts or Christmas decorations.

Snow in Bruges

On Thursday I woke up and saw a white blanket: it had snowed.
It took a while before everyone was safely at school. The teachers decided to enjoy this event and gave less lessons. The classes went out and made a snowman, threw snowballs, slid down a slope. It was a cold, but very fun day. Tily approvingly looked through the window and enjoyed the many happy faces

TILY´S Life Saved - Successful Operation!

A dramatic operation under the management of
Dr. J. Tramosljika and his assistant emergency doctors
Dr. G. Mario and Dr. K. Spechtfang safed Tily´s life.

The complicated operation took almost one hour.

Tily´s life was on the razor´s edge...

Every movement was safe and skilled.

But due to the good equipment and international experience of the
operation team the operation was successful.

Even the dangerous "headover test" was successful.

Everybody was happy again, especially KARLI.

Only Steini didn´t experience the successful end of the operation -
he fainted...

Tily, after waking up:

"What´s the matter boys, why do you look so surprised?

Skating is fun!

I want to try skiing - as soon as possible!"

ELIF, who almost "killed" Tily,
apologised with a big kiss the next day to Tily...

Speedskating - Tily seriously hurt!

TILY seriously hurt - helicopter transfer to
Stonebridge ASO - Hospital!

The first day of winter sport - ice skating - ended for Tily with a serious accident!

But let us report from the beginning:

FRIDAY:
The 3. Klasse boys designed and constructed speed skaters for Tily and Steini.

MONDAY:
After a very cold night with temperatures - 18° C -
the whole school went skating with Tily and Steini.
We had a bit suneshine and it was still ice cold, but these are perfect conditions for skating.

Everything was O K, and Tily was learning quickly!

Tily and Steini went in circles with the children from our school.
Everybody had a lot of fun!

Mr. BOCK showed Tily and Steini some tricks how to skate perfectly!

Elif tried to dance on ice with Tily.

Both fell and Tily lost his head!

Everybody was very sad!

We called the air rescue to bring Tily to the Hospital in ASO Steinabrückl!

But the show must go on...., that´life!

The makin´and bakin´of sweet gingerbread Tily

In the beginning there was the idea to make Tily even sweeter...(almost impossible).

BUT: Take a picture of Tily, glue it on wood, cut it out.

Cut out a copper band and start to bend it around Tily´s well shaped figure.

Stefan gives a helping hand!

Then you need nice children, a dough, Tily´s and Steini´s assistance. Start to cut out many, many sweet Tilys:

Tily is testing the copies and giving his OK!

Aren´t they sweet?
Parcels with sweet Tilys are on the way to every partner country.
Unfortunately it was not possible to bake Tilys for every child...

...and they will be dry arriving (in January????) after a long journey.
Put cut apples with the Tilys into a tin box and let them regain the humidity...
(Be patient!)

These are our Christmas regards from Austria!

Have a nice time to recover, love from

Beate, Judith, Alexandra, Wolfgang and ...Martin
