GAME: MAKING BUBBLES

"Tily" learns the outdoor activities children like doing in the playground!

HOW TO MAKE “SOAP BUBBLES”
How to create floating, shimmering bubbles in the air!!!!

Things you’ll need:
Distilled water
Dish detergent
Glycerine
Large plastic bowl with cover
Length of wire

STEP 1
Fill a plastic bowl with distilled water. You can use tap water, but distilled water tends to make stronger, longer-lasting bubbles.

STEP 2
Add a cup dish-washing liquid and some glycerine to the water. Mix the ingredients gently but thoroughly; you want them blended, but you don’t want to create suds.

STEP 3
Cover the bowl until you’re ready to start blowing bubbles.

STEP 4
Twist a length of wire into a loop to make a bubble wand. You can also use cookie cutters or discarded plastic bubble wands from store-bought bubble bottles. The larger the loop, the bigger the bubbles will be, but larger bubbles have a harder time maintaining their integrity.

STEP 5
Open the lid and dip your wand in the mixture. Raise it to your lips and blow. Bubbles should come floating out.

Teachers in Europe believe that creativity is fundamentally important at school and that ICT can help enhance it.
The European Commission believe creativity is a fundamental competence to be developed at school. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are considered very important among teachers: computers, educational software, videos, online collaborative tools, virtual learning environments, interactive whiteboards, and free online material and courses.

Oh, yes, of course. Culture and technology meet to enhance understanding of the past. Interest in Europe’s industrial heritage is increasing.

Teacher Exchange 2 - Calcotada in VALLS, Tarragona

A very special gastronomic festival is the CALCOTADA in VALLS, Tarragona, at the end of the winter.
Up to 30.000 visitors come to watch this festival and eat CALCOTS every year.

The Austrian Teachers were invited on Sunday to take part in this event, thank you Francesca and Carme!

What are calcots?

Calcots are very early onions, which are grilled on open fire.

The outside is burnt, you take it away and dip it into a delicious sauce called romesco.
The women here are preparing the sauce.

They are traditionally served on a hot roof tile.

Then you lift them and lower them into your mouth, a messy thing!

To be able to eat a lot, you are drinking wine from a special jar.

The winner of 2010 eating competition ate 3,5 kg, which is around 300 pieces of onions...

Tily sings in German and Catalan!

DEAR FRIENDS!
As you can see on the right side of the blog you’ve got the “RADIO FOLCH i TORRES”.
If you click in the radio link, you will listen to our students talking about different things. They use English language as a common vehicle of expression

The “Radio” is an example of how new technologies are helping us in this project, making communication possible. With them, we aim to enhance pupil’s motivation, social skills and self-confidence.

As we also include in this project each cultural heritage of our countries. We are immersed in a word of languages, so the last post in our radio, as you can see, is OUR TILY SONG in German, from AUSTRIA, and in CATALAN from BARCELONA in Spain. Soon you will listen to it in other languages!!!

ENJOY THE SONGS!!!!!

Reading project

For two weeks there is a special reading aloud project during break in our school.
Because some of our parents do not have the time to read to their children, or they can not read themself, five teachers have desided to read to small groups of children during breaktime.
The children enjoy plenty of these sessions.
There are scary stories, magical stories, funny stories, and Tily listens and likes the soft voices that excites his imagination.

Project ART WINDOWS

Here you can see some of the artwork the children made on the art day on january 8th. The results ware magnificent.
Now all of the works are hanging in the windows of the shops in the shopping street near to our school. It is a real exhibition. So everbody can see our work and it makes the children very proud.
